how are you issue 6

Hey there! ๐Ÿ‘‹

You might have noticed that my โ€œHow Are You?โ€ weekly rubric is slowly transforming into a monthly one. Iโ€™ve realized that reflecting monthly works better for me, so letโ€™s see how it goes.

Also, you may be wondering โ€“ why am I writing this before February even ends? Well, Iโ€™m about to take a 5-day vacation to properly recharge. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

Before we beginโ€ฆ

You wonโ€™t find anything political in this issue. Thatโ€™s because, like many, Iโ€™m still observing, still shocked by the new U.S. president, but choosing to focus on what I can control โ€“ my donations.

So, hereโ€™s my February self-reflection.

How is Work?

The chaos and restructuring in January finally paid off in February. I finally had time to focus on affiliates, partnerships, and upcoming events.

At the same time, I had one of those moments where I asked myself:
“Who am I here?” ๐Ÿค” “Am I still useful to my company?”

I even considered getting a mentor. But after jotting down my thoughts, I realizedโ€ฆ I already know my wishes and goals at this point.

Honestly, I donโ€™t have huge ambitions. And you know what? Thatโ€™s okay. ๐Ÿ˜…

Iโ€™ve finally accepted that I want to be an โ€œaverage personโ€ โ€“ someone who doesnโ€™t sacrifice their family or mental health just to chase bigger projects. It might not be the best mindset for a fast-growing company, but Iโ€™m lucky that my CEO respects my priorities at this point.

Year Without Shopping: Update

This challenge is going surprisingly well! ๐Ÿคฃ

I thought it would be harder (and sometimes it is), but overall, it boosts my confidence knowing that Iโ€™m saving first and not wasting money on things I donโ€™t need.

I should have named this challenge “A Year Without Impulsive Shopping.” Right now, I had one impulsive purchase per month โ€“ way better than my spending habits last year.

Iโ€™m also learning to find joy in saving and donating first. Only after hitting those goals โ€“ I allow myself to buy something from my wishlist.

Physical Health

My routine of two workouts per week, daily stretching, and lunchtime/after-work walks is working well! Planning to keep it up and even try tennis soon to keep things fun and engaging. ๐ŸŽพ

Emotional State

Iโ€™m finally feeling stable. Good planning and self-care are paying off โ€“ I feel more confident and relaxed.

February was the first month in a long time when I felt ready to start something new. Iโ€™m open to trying new sports, exploring new courses to improve my skills, and even considering joining some podcasts as a guest.

Iโ€™m taking things slowly this time โ€“ step by step โ€“ to avoid burnout. And for the first time in three years, I genuinely feel ready for something new.

๐ŸŽง Recently, I enjoyed this podcast about work-life balance (or rather, the fact that it doesnโ€™t exist ๐Ÿ˜…): The Tortoise with Brooke McAlary

How are Finances?

Between January and February, I managed to:

โœ… Donate $250 (from my $1,500 goal) to the Ukrainian army.
โœ… Save $650 (from my $3,700 yearly goal).

Iโ€™m proud of how I manage my finances now โ€“ years of reading fancy finance books didnโ€™t go to waste! ๐Ÿ˜†

Next step? Investing. Iโ€™ve wanted to try it for years but never felt I had the self-control. Time to change that!

How are you doing?

How was your February? ๐ŸŒฟ Spring is already in the air, and I hope it brings fresh energy your way.

See you in March! ๐Ÿ’›
