How Are You? March Issue #7

by

how are you monthly march 2025

I liked how March went!

Despite all the ongoing political debates, I focused on work, family, and donations – things I can actually impact. ✨

How is Work?

I took a long trip to CloudFest, and now I finally have my own experience to share – read about it. I also organized my thoughts on influencer marketing changes in the WordPress space.

Overall, I think this month, I managed to balance work, an event, and my personal blog pretty well.

Blog Enhancements

I decided to skip a blog development article this month since not much was done.

Here are some improvements I made:

✔ Created my experience page

✔ Added a submenu to “About Me”

✔ Created subscription form

adding submenu page to menu

To do this, go to: Appearance → Editor → Navigation → Navigation (this is my header menu).

My Work page now has a simple structure: a small navigation menu, a list of events I attended, and places I’ve worked at. I structured the content exactly how I like it.

I also wanted to display events from my existing Listing Grid:

🔹 JetEngine makes it super easy to use the Listing Grid feature. Instead of manually editing each article and page, I just went to JetEngine → Listings → Experience (my listing) and adjusted the layout.

I experimented with columns, saved the changes, and now it’s updated everywhere – About Me and My Work Experience pages.

Recently, I built a Contact page and started thinking about a subscription form for a potential newsletter. I explored different options:

🔹 JetFormBuilder with HubSpot or MailPoet integration

🔹 Tried HubSpot, but it felt too complicated for a small blog

🔹 Tried MailPoet + JetFormBuilder but I didn’t want to duplicate plugins

So, I chose the simplest one – MailPoet – it’s free for up to 500 subscribers, managed by the Woo team, and has an intuitive interface.

✅ Installed it from the WordPress dashboard

✅ Created an account

✅ Deleted unnecessary lists, keeping only “Newsletter List”

✅ Used a template to create a form and added it via shortcode to the Blog, About Me, and Resources pages

Now, you can find the subscription form on those pages (Feel free to subscribe! 😊):

Next, I’ll check if there’s any interest in the newsletter. If people subscribe, I’ll create my first issue directly in WordPress – I like the interface!

Blog cover

🎨I always wanted a personalized blog cover that truly reflects me. Turns out, my 15-year-old sister is exploring design, so I asked if she’d help (and earn a little too).

She started by asking about my favorite song, places, activities, etc. And now, you can see the result on my homepage! I think the image says a lot about me: not too serious, calm, a good person – and yes, the sushi images really amuse me every time. 🍣😂

I told her to keep it as it is because this is who I am right now, and I don’t want to pretend to be anyone else.

Year Without Shopping Update

This challenge still impresses me! I made so many impulsive purchases last year that I thought I wouldn’t manage to save anything.

But making a public promise keeps me going. So far, I also bought an investment course I had planned for this year.

Physical Health

I’m walking more than last year – thanks to an app! Who would’ve thought it actually works? 😆 Gamification helps!

📌 12 stretches

📌 25 walks

📌 7 workouts

Emotional State

Okay. 🤷‍♀️

How are Finances?

Following my 2025 Finance Goals, here’s the progress:

💙 Donated $125 this month toward my $1,500 goal for the Ukrainian army. (25%)

💰 Saved +$230 toward my $3,700 goal. (23%)

How are you doing?

Please share how your month was in the comments below. 😊
