I missed posting in May and June, as I was focused on work and personal life, so the blog was slightly postponed. Still, I managed to write some content along the way.
In this post, I want to summarise how the first half of the year went.
How is Work?
The past few months have been quite fruitful in my role at Crocoblock. I managed to go on two work trips – CloudFest and WordCamp Europe in Basel.
I’m continuing to adapt to the new AI era. Honestly, I don’t think much will change for us. We’ve been developing the Crocoblock brand for seven years now, and there’s still so much in our plans. So, I think, as long as we stay focused on quality, AI won’t drastically interrupt or transform my work.
During these months, I wrote 18 blog posts on my blog:
- Outreach Like You Want to Be Outreached
- Community and Partners’ Feedback: The Driving Force Behind My Work Motivation
- From 2017 to Now: How Influencer Marketing Has Transformed in the WordPress Space
- Do You Need a Partnership Manager?
- Building Personal WordPress Blog – April Update
- February Update
- How to Create a Simple Contact Form with Conditional Logic
- My Values, Work Principles, and Rules
- Why I Refused to Follow “Do This Every Day” Advice
- Is the WordPress Community Silent, or Is It Just Me?
- 5 articles in the #howareyou series
- WordCamp Europe 2025, Basel – My Recap
- CloudFest 2025 – My Impressions and Reflections
WOW! That’s quite a lot.
I hadn’t planned to write so many, but this quick six-month review helps me stay on track.
It definitely reduces my “I’m not doing enough” or “not appreciating myself” mindset.
I’m proud of myself.
There’s so much more to come in the next six months. I’m not planning any new work trips at the moment, but we do have a few exciting projects to launch (I’ll keep them under wraps until release 😄).
Year Without Shopping Update
This challenge has already helped me reflect on my relationship with consumer goods.
Shopping used to bring me joy, but now I’m more focused on saving, donating, and only buying when necessary.
Physical Health
Since January, I committed to two workouts a week.
In June, I increased it to four – and it feels amazing to support my body’s health like this.
I’ve collected quite a bit of fitness equipment over the years, which allows me to vary my workouts and keep things interesting.
Because one of my personal quirks is that I get bored very quickly!
Emotional State
Unfortunately, this part hasn’t been very positive lately. Russian attacks have intensified – at least fivefold – so the idea of leaving my home apartment has come up again.
What helps keep me grounded (as much as possible during wartime):
- Limiting how often I read the news – I’ve set specific times to check headlines and monitor missile/drone alerts.
- Reading – my long-time coping tool.
- Fitness.
- Weekend time with my family.
- And more little joys that help me stay afloat.
Speaking of reading – it’s still my best friend. I’ve already read 36 out of 40 books I set as my Goodreads goal for the year. I usually read two books in parallel, switching depending on my mood.
When I want to relax – I go for a story.
When I’m in a self-development mood – I pick up something educational or practical.
How are Finances?
When I calculated my progress after six months, I was genuinely happy to see I’m staying on track with my two main financial goals: saving and donating.
Here are the results so far:
- 46% of the donation goal reached – $691 donated out of $1,500 to the Ukrainian army.
- 62% of savings goal reached – $2,279 saved out of $3,700.
And You?
How are you doing?
Have you been working on an exciting project?
Any personal news you’d like to share?
I’d really love to hear from you 💛
