When planning our trip to WordCamp Grinon, I decided to give my sister Diana (and myself, of course) a little gift. And decided to travel to Madrid early, on November 16th, so we had almost a whole week to live, work, and explore the city together.
Expectations
I was so excited that I’m able to make such present to my 15-years sister, that I didn’t have big expectations for Madrid itself. I thought it might be similar to Milan – a beautiful city, but not really my style.
Reality
Madrid was incredible! There were so many parks, interesting places to visit, and great shops. Since I worked in the mornings, our schedule looked like this: work from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and then spend the rest of the day exploring the city.
What I like about this trip?
I was surprised at how well my sister and I communicated during our trip! Even though we live hundreds of kilometers apart, it didn’t affect our connection, and I’m so glad.
We planned each day carefully, adding all the places we wanted to visit or try new food into a shared map that we both used. It made things so easy.
We also kept our trip varied by visiting different types of places – historical sites, cultural spots, nature, shops, and restaurants. Mixing it up was the best idea! It gave us a fun and well-rounded experience of the city.
Excellent experience!
